The President has COVID-19

The impact on the presidential race is surprisingly hard to determine, at least for me. My first thought was this hurts Trump and, if I had to put money on it, I think that’s still the most likely outcome. He is in quarantine with a month to go before election day, while millions of Americans are already voting. In Campaigns 101, they teach you that’s not ideal.

Fires: causes and partial solutions

Because this is 2020, the moment of astonished mourning in the wake of deadly wildfires in Oregon and along the west coast lasted exactly a moment, before the important people started fighting about the cause of the fires and, more importantly, what that says about for whom we should vote for president.
